Equipment I Use

To record my audio I use the iRig Pro. It’s an affordable audio/MIDI interface you can use to connect your MIDI instrument to your Mac, PC, phone or tablet. I recommend it because I use it  every day.

I use my GoPro Hero 3 to film some of of my piano videos and for some of my fishing videos as well. I like that it has a wide view and is very simple to use and set up so that I can focus on the video content.  It’s small so I can also set it up right on the keyboard to get POV shots. It’s a great little camera as long as there is enough light. I like that I can also carry it in my pocket when I go out and use it to film my outdoor adventures as well.

I can’t say enough about this guitar. I recently got a brand new Ibanez acoustic electric guitar and the sound is amazing. Very rich and clear. I have also used it with an amp for performances as well as direct line in to my laptop for recording with Logic Pro X and it all worked beautifully. The pick up is powered by a 9 volt battery which is accessible from the outside of the guitar which is great. One of my favorite instruments I have ever owned.

Lately I have been using the Blue Snowball Condenser Microphone for my vocal recordings and I am very impressed. It produces a clear and true sound and is very easy to use with its USB Plug and Play capability. In order to use this mic you need to connect it to your computer as its only output is through USB. I really like the quality you get for the price

This Luna Mahogany Series is a nice little concert sized ukulele that I use in some of my songs. It has a great sound and stays in tune really well. It also has a pickup inside in case you want to record or line it into an amp and comes with a nice little case

The Sony RX 100V is my newest piece of equipment I have. It took me a long time to save up for it, so I wouldn’t recommend it unless you are certain that you are dedicated to taking photos or making videos. That said, it is a wonderful camera that packs DSLR quality into a portable point and shoot. It takes beautiful video and even has some 4K capability, although I usually shoot in 1080 HD 60p. I like the lifelike quality of the 60p especially for my vlog and fishing videos. The touchscreen flips up so that you can see what you are shooting when the camera is facing you, great for vlogging. It does tend to get a little hot when filming and also I would recommend getting extra batteries because the battery life is not long when using the camera for video. Overall I am very happy with this camera so far.
